The Hometown Colorado Initiative is a great way to explore the potential of your community and greatly expand your capacity for outreach, research, data gathering and creative problem solving. Every community has those thorny issues or projects that keep getting put off. Through Hometown Colorado, you can put long stalled projects back into motion.

If you are interested in learning more about how Hometown Colorado can benefit your community, we are available to come meet with you and your staff to review the program in greater detail and go over potential projects you have identified.

Timeline

October 2017: Hometown Colorado opens competition for next year’s partner and begins accepting applications from potential partners.

August 2017 – February 2018: Hometown Colorado staff will be available for phone conversations and in-person meetings to describe the program and discuss potential projects with partners.

February 16, 2018: Applications are due to Hometown Colorado.

March 2018: 2018-19 Community Partner announced.

March – May 2018: Hometown Colorado and partner match proposed projects with faculty and academic courses. Working together, a scope of work is developed for each project. CU Denver and partner sign contract.

Summer 2018: Partner staff provides background information and documents to faculty for projects to begin in AY 2016-2017.

Fall 2018: Hometown Colorado kick-off event. Fall term classes work on HCI projects.

Spring 2019: Spring classes work on HCI projects. Fall term written reports are delivered to the partner.

May 2019: Hometown Colorado wrap-up celebration.

Summer 2019: Spring term written reports delivered to partner.
